Mood Media serves as the creative and storytelling engine behind a growing ecosystem of performing arts and cultural education programs rooted in Harlem and expanding globally.

At the center of this ecosystem is Harlem Collective Opera, a nonprofit arts and education organization dedicated to developing young artists, preserving cultural legacy, and producing world-class performances in music, opera, and orchestral arts.

Our Ensembles

Harlem Boys Choir

The Harlem Boys Choir is a youth vocal training and performance ensemble focused on discipline, musicianship, and artistic excellence. Rooted in the Harlem tradition of choral excellence, the program develops young singers through structured vocal training, weekly rehearsals, and live performance opportunities alongside professional artists and educators.

Harlem Chamber Orchestra

The Harlem Chamber Orchestra is a professional training and performance ensemble composed of emerging and established musicians dedicated to classical and contemporary orchestral repertoire. The orchestra serves as both a performance body and an educational pipeline for African American and diasporic classical musicians.

The Relationship

Harlem Boys Choir and Harlem Chamber Orchestra are sister ensembles under Harlem Collective Opera, sharing a unified mission:
to build a sustainable pipeline of Black and Brown classical artists through performance, education, and cultural storytelling.

Mood Media documents, amplifies, and distributes the work of these ensembles across digital, editorial, radio, and broadcast platforms—ensuring the artistic output of Harlem Collective reaches global audiences.

Harlem Collective Announces Exclusive Ticketing Partnership with Fever

Harlem Collective is proud to announce an exclusive ticketing partnership with Fever, a leading global platform for discovering and accessing live cultural experiences.

Through this partnership, Fever becomes the exclusive ticketing partner for Harlem Collective’s core performance ensembles, including the Harlem Collective Opera, Harlem Chamber Orchestra, and the Harlem Boys Choir.

This collaboration ensures a seamless and elevated audience experience from discovery to attendance, making it easier for global audiences to access Harlem Collective’s performances, seasonal productions, and special events.

Expanding Access to World-Class Harlem Arts

Harlem Collective Opera is proud to be a certified New York City Public Schools vendor, making it easy for schools to bring high-quality arts programming directly to their students. Through The Black Composer Project, educators can introduce students to the rich legacy of Black composers through live performances, storytelling, and engaging educational experiences that connect music, history, literature, and culture. Our programs are designed to support classroom learning while inspiring the next generation of artists, musicians, and creative thinkers.

For New York City Public Schools, booking The Black Composer Project is simple. Teachers, principals, arts coordinators, and school administrators only need to submit a Purchase Order (PO) to schedule a performance or residency—no complicated contracting process required. Whether you’re planning a Black History Month program, an arts enrichment event, an assembly, or an in-school residency, Harlem Collective Opera is ready to partner with your school to bring this unforgettable educational experience to your students.

Harlem Collective Opera is proud to partner with Medgar Evers College to bring The Black Composer Project: From Dawn to Cosmic Night to campus as part of our 2026–2027 season. This landmark collaboration celebrates the extraordinary contributions of Black composers through world-class performances that educate, inspire, and connect audiences to a rich musical legacy. Featuring educational matinee performances for students alongside public evening concerts, the partnership demonstrates our shared commitment to expanding access to the arts while preserving and elevating the voices that have shaped classical music.

This partnership with Medgar Evers College marks the beginning of Harlem Collective Opera’s expanding HBCU initiative. Throughout the season, we will work with Historically Black Colleges and Universities across the country to present The Black Composer Project, creating opportunities for students and communities to experience the beauty, history, and cultural significance of Black classical composers. Together, we are building a national movement that honors the past, empowers the present, and inspires the next generation through the transformative power of music.

Harlem Collective is honored to announce a growing partnership network with Seventh-day Adventist Church congregations across New York City and beyond, uniting faith communities and performing arts institutions through music, education, and cultural engagement.

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to spiritual development, youth empowerment, and community enrichment through the transformative power of music and storytelling.

A Citywide Ministry of Music and Arts

Through this partnership, Harlem Collective will work alongside Seventh-day Adventist churches across all five boroughs to activate a citywide arts ministry network that includes:

• Choral and orchestral residencies within local church communities
• Youth music education and training programs
• Community concerts and worship-centered performances
• Seasonal cultural events that bring together artists, congregations, and families

This initiative is designed to strengthen the connection between sacred music traditions and contemporary classical performance, while creating new pathways for young artists to develop their gifts in supportive, values-driven environments.
